Welcome to MadsBakes

I couldn't tell you how my baking obsession started, I couldn't even tell you when exactly I got my beloved Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer (it's honestly all an actual blur.) Some could say it starts within my family, watching my mom bake, my Grandma's french silk pies, or even maybe with a brief obsession with Georgetown Cupcakes? All I know is that at one point during high school, cupcakes overtook my life, just like they overtook the rest of the country in 2012 and that was the official start of my baking habits.

Flash forward to the summer of 2016, working 40 hours a week at an ice cream store, when I needed some kind of activity to keep me busy. I made what I call beginner's luck Croissants, took a pretty picture, and with that launched my Instagram @Mads_Bakes. 139 posts later, I'm still baking and documenting it, but thought it was time for something bigger and better. MadsBakes has been such a big part of my life over the last year and a half, and I am so overwhelmed and excited to take the brand to its next level. MadsBakes: Baking&More is a collection of my thoughts, creations, and the added "more" because who knows where this journey will take us.
